About the Team
Part of Jefferies’ broader Private Capital Advisory platform, the Private Fund Advisory (PFA) team is a leading global placement agent and alternative investment advisor focused on primary fundraising for private markets managers. PFA represents approximately 45 professionals within Jefferies’ 140+ person PCA platform, leveraging the firm’s integrated capabilities across primary fundraising, secondary advisory, and global investor coverage. The team raises capital from a diverse global investor base, including public and private pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, asset managers, family offices, and other institutional allocators. Through Jefferies’ broader platform, PFA benefits from access to a global network of more than 3,000 LP relationships, providing differentiated distribution and market intelligence.
PFA advises clients across a wide range of closed-end strategies and private capital verticals across both Primary Capital Raising (Established & first-time funds, Separately managed accounts, Permanent capital vehicles) and Direct and Co-invest Capital Raising, including:
- Private Equity Buyout
- Growth Equity
- Credit (Direct Lending, Opportunistic, Mezzanine)
- Infrastructure & Real Assets
- Energy, Power & Natural Resources
- Secondary Funds
- First-time and emerging managers
- Global and emerging markets strategies
The team provides end-to-end advisory across the fundraising lifecycle, including fund positioning, market strategy, investor targeting, marketing materials, and process execution. PFA operates as part of Jefferies’ “One PCA Team” model, enabling close collaboration with secondary advisory and sector coverage teams, and leveraging proprietary data, analytics, and market insights built from a decade of transaction activity across primary and secondary markets.
About the Role / Responsibilities
Analysts are core members of deal teams, supporting active fundraising mandates end-to-end. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting fundraising strategy, positioning, and investor targeting
- Preparing marketing materials (PPMs, pitchbooks, presentations) and translating investment strategies into compelling messaging
- Performing financial and portfolio analysis, including track record evaluation and benchmarking
- Coordinating investor diligence, including managing data rooms and drafting responses
- Assisting with investor outreach and process tracking, including monitoring engagement and feedback
- Conducting market research on fundraising trends, LP behavior, and competitive dynamics
Desired Experience
- 1+ years of relevant experience (investment banking, private markets, consulting, or similar)
- Strong analytical and financial skillset with attention to detail
- Interest in private markets and institutional investing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
